Ganderbal, Aug 21 (KNO): Inhabitants in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday carried out a protest rally against blasphemous video that went viral a few days back.
Reports reaching the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the people in large number participated in the protest rally, who were carrying placards, demanding capital punishment for those fanatics of Reasi, who used incendiary remarks against beloved Prophet (PBUH).
Meanwhile, officials from the district administration and police stopped the protesters from heading towards Main market. They assured the protesters that they will take up the matter with authorities and raise their demands with them.
Pertinently, police have already arrested three persons and a formal case has been registered against them after a blasphemy video went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, clashes also broke out in the area after the protest.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal said that that tear smoke shells were used by the security forces over those who were seen protesting as it was violation of 144 CrPC, which is in place due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic—(KNO)
